Incredible $30 Cartography Software Bundle Represents a Virtual Tabletop GM's Dream

Following a short availability earlier this year, the Map Making Mega Bundle has returned for a limited time that lasts until Dec. 2. Hailed as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" developed by ProFantasy Software over the years, the complete package is valued at over $1,300. And there are three different bundles available here.

Primary Feature

The big draw is certainly permanent access for Campaign Cartographer 3+, an industry-standard cartography program that can be used to generate various types including epic fantasy landscapes, detailed regional charts, city maps, and most notably, dungeon and tabletop battle maps.

Entry Level

The most affordable option, starting at just one dollar, features merely four of the 39 total items: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Castle Source Maps, Urban Source Maps. This package suits existing CC3+ users, but it does offer fresh fantasy design elements for overworld maps, more than 750 monster tokens compatible with online gaming platforms, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts with 470 associated map tokens, eight complete urban centers, and more than 70 urban floorplans.

Mid-Range Option

The eight-item bundle starting at fifteen dollars offers enhanced value through inclusion of permanent CC3+ access, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. The Annual represents the yearly bundle from ProFantasy's ongoing subscription program featuring a variety CC3+ add-ons including map packs and additional utilities. Isometric Cities lets you display cities with an extra dimension using angled views from multiple angles. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping comprises 760 pages for beginners and "power users" alike, full of tips and tutorials covering cartography techniques.

Every volume from the Annual series come with this bundle, plus numerous other resource and asset packs that can help users craft complete solar systems, or just go all-in on traditional fantasy world-building: combat arenas, underground complexes, urban centers, and land masses in multiple viewpoints. You can even design character portraits. At thirty versus fifteen dollars, the full bundle is so worth it, particularly for mappers who have only the annual CC3+ license and want to upgrade to lifetime. However, it's clearly an even better deal for map-making newbies since it includes the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The one caveat here though the purchase is available on any platform, the software is only usable with Windows systems.

Charitable Component

Similar to previous bundles, part of every purchase supports charitable organizations. For this one, that's Save the Children, an organization founded by Eglantyne Jebb in 1919 focused on improving the lives of children worldwide through education, health care, and emergency relief. Package customization options appear near the page top, but you can also select any amount for a donation on the right side of the page. Additionally available is an "Adjust Donation" drop-down just below that, enabling adjustment of how much of your donation allocated between the platform, developer, and charity.
